I just got word from the manufacturer that the DVD manufacturing is COMPLETE! The final DVDs are all boxed up and are being sent to our office in Dallas. The majority of them are being sent via ground service and will most likely arrive here next week, but we have several boxes being sent via Next Day Air so to fill the pre-orders. So they should be here TOMORROW! Woo-hoo!

We will be printing out shipping labels for the next day or so, and will be packaging everything up to get these out ASAP. So if you pre-ordered, expect your DVD to get mailed out in the thrusday/friday timeframe!

I'm so stoked; I can't wait to get these in our hands! :-)

Here's a quick update on the DVD manufacturing status. The MASTER is at the DVD manufacturing facility in California, where it is in the process of being glass-mastered and pressed. The artwork is being printed, and when everything is complete they will be putting everything together in a standard DVD case and shrinkwrapping the whole thing. The scheduled date for the manufacturer to send the finished DVDs to us is February 28th, and they're coming to us 'overnight', so assuming everything goes as planned we should be able to send them out on March 1st, just as we originally scheduled.

Okay, the BAD NEWS is that we had a week full of technical difficulties while making the MASTER of 'GetBent!' to send off for DVD replication. Everything had always worked every other time we'd gone through the process, but something inexplictably went wrong on the FINAL DAY, and it required us to go back and troubleshoot our entire process, as well as re-output all the original files and re-compress them for DVD again, something that takes hours-upon-hours of processing every time you have to do it.

Needless to say, we were a bit freaked out, and we ended up putting in almost 40 hours of overtime this week to complete the first DVD. And since we had to leave town over the weekend for a film shoot (more on that later), we absolutely HAD to get it done in order to have it ready first thing this monday morning.

The GOOD NEWS is that it all worked out in the end; the master is now complete -- in fact, 2 copies of it just spit out of our DVD editing machine and are ready to send out in the moring. We're hopeful our DVD manufacturer can still turn them in time, but even if they are a tad bit late, they should still be back and ready to ship out within the first week of March.

And now for the first time in a week, I can go get a decent, stress-free night of sleep.

During our first week of pre-order business--which by the way surpassed our sales goal; YAY!--we also managed to pick up three new sponsors for the "Episode 1 - Katemcy Rocks" DVD. It also looks like we've got an additional new sponsor lined up for Episode 2 who just couldn't make the deadline for this episode. We're feverishly working to integrate the sponsor information into the DVD as we speak; in fact I'm typing this news update on one of our field laptops because our main editing computer is busy rendering the new sponsor sequence right now. We'll update the website with the new sponsor information early next week.

That brings us to another point: the status of the "Episode 1 - Katemcy Rocks" DVD itself. Well as it stands, all that has to be done to the main video is to drop in the sponsor sequence (the thing rendering right now) and it will be 100% complete. The DVD structure is 99% complete (I found one bug in the last beta that needs to be addressed). The photo slideshow is 100% complete. The deleted scene (yes, there really is a TRUE deleted scene!) is 100% complete. The only thing left to work on are the outtakes; the rough edit is done, but we still have to work on the final edit, which we can hopefully finish by tomorrow morning.

Once that's done, we'll be doing the FINAL RENDER on all the footage, then drop them into our DVD Studio Pro structure, and burn the master. If all goes according to plan, we should have the master sent off to manufacturing early next week!
